Consider this a handshake.
Hi there! I’m Alex — a designer, illustrator and maker based out of Richmond, VA. I’m a paper lover, an avid reader, a homebody, and a hybrid unicorn that thrills over a great cup of coffee. I’m an extroverted introvert — so while I love chatting and hanging out, you’ll most likely find me cuddled up on the couch with my dogs when I’m trying to recharge. I love what I do, and I’m excited you’re here so that I can share it with you!
Undergrad
I want to do it all.
I wasn’t one of those kids that knew what I wanted to do from the start. It took some exploring — an experience that has proved invaluable in my career. After several seasons of exploration, I landed in The Art Building and fell in love — with the painting, the drawing, the design and the way it all seamlessly flowed together. I didn’t want to choose one path — I wanted to take them all. So I did.
I graduated from Old Dominion University with a double concentration in Graphic Design and Illustration and a minor in Marketing. And I’ve been putting all of those skills (and more) to work ever since.

At Work
My team is a dream.
By day, I’m an Art Director at Red Orange Studio — an amazing marketing agency made up of a team of creative individuals that I adore. At work, you’ll most often find me focused on small business branding, website strategy and design, and working with the nonprofits that make my heart sing. One of the things I love most about my day job is the emphasis we place on helping those that help our community — getting to use my skills to give back to those that are giving back is one of my favorite parts of my job.
Freelance
I'm a sentimental sap.
My freelance project, Constantly Alexandra Design and Illustration, has been active for almost eight years now. The work comes in waves — sometimes I keep pretty busy, and sometimes I lay low for awhile. And I’m happy that way.
CADI started off as a wedding-focused hustle specializing in wedding invitations and signage. These days, while I still do the occasional wedding, my focus is on the more sentimental stuff — nursery decor, family and pet portraits, home paintings and more. I love capturing moments that people can revisit over the years, and it’s one of the most rewarding elements of this work.

A picture is worth a thousand words.
